Just tested and installed jump clones at 2 stations where I have no corp standings. the first was a caldari station where I have over 8.0 faction standings, the second was a quafe company station where I have negative faction and no corp standings
interesting :D

1. costs 100k to install a jump clone, although that is a rather trivial sum. 2. imo NPC standings are a completely useless mechanic. Most of the corps I can install jump clones with are because of storyline missions. if I wanted to grind out standings I could easily do it, but after a certain point it just doesn't make sense to do it, as you have so many options. and there aren't really any bonuses to high standings. It was kinda cool getting the 2 run cnr bpc for 9.9 caldari standings, but I would have made so much more isk not worrying about my faction standings. being able to decline undesirable missions is a far bigger benefit than a silly bpc.

It was a silly barrier that forced PvP-ers to grind NPC missions.
I like that I don't have to look for specific stations now. My standings are pretty good with a good selection of corps so I had pretty good choice for JCs. but just going to any station with a clone facility that part is nice.
For mission runners having access to JCs is important too, different implant sets, or have clones in different regions to have multiple agents available.
given the number of work arounds to standings (and past a certain point 8.0 standings is an annoyance more than anything else), or making JCs at a player facility. I can only agree that it is a silly barrier.
